Amazing support for Boks ahead of Test
The support for the Springbok rugby team ahead of the third Test to be hosted at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday has been absolutely amazing, says captain Jean de Villiers.
Speaking at a press conference at the Stadium yesterday, De Villiers said the support from the crowds had been truly heart warming.
"It already felt like we were playing a Test match at our practice session at Grey High on Monday, there were over 5,000 people there to cheer us on, and we spent over an hour afterwards signing autographs and interacting with them," he said.
De Villiers said the team would be focusing on providing a full 80 minutes of spectacular rugby, having played a spectacular second half in the first Test and a brilliant first half in the second Test.
Coach Heyneke Meyer said that it was rare to see such support ahead of a test match, and it meant that the team was even more motivated to end the Test series 3, 0.
"The level of support we have seen since arriving in Port Elizabeth has been awesome, and we do not want to let them down on Saturday," he said.
